If the brought back the older style games, on the older platforms... I would defiantly spend more time a week playing video games. These games are what made game what they are today, however sometimes, classics are the way forward. I loved the older games for how they looked, and if college wasn't a priority, I would defiantly load up the old systems and sit for hours on end playing like already stated game such as 'Zelda'
Here is a list of all the gaming platforms I have owned since the beginning of my life.

In my option from all these platforms, I can safely say I'm a gamer.

This picture displayed above shows of one of my earliest game memories I've had. This game from what I can remember was the hardest game ever made, not only was it challenging though the puzzles, but the flashing images and the up beat music kept this game entertaining and very addictive. I remember that key became the most important things ever, how ever you had to collect the keys dodge this NPC;

This NPC was terrifying, coming at you at top speeds, baring in mind you are a simple green pixel when you start out.
My favorite console has to be the 'Nintendo 64', this is where my child hood really took place, glued to the screen playing 'Zelda Ocarina Of Time, Zelda Majora's Mask, Super Mario 64 and Mario Kart', these games are what my child hood was all about, this amazing console ties with the other amazing console name 'Sega Mega Drive', playing 'Sonic 1, Sonic 2, Sonic 3, Sonic and Knuckles, Sonic 3 and Knuckles' I loved sonic back in the day... Its a shame they went and ruined him in the future, whereas Mario is holding it together, newer graphics for that game really suits it, however in 'Sonic 4' they might has well got a 5 year old to make it. This is my opinion, however I know I'm not the only one, if your a sonic fan, I really advise not stepping one foot closer towards trying it or buying it.
My worst console has to be 'Sega Master System', this console delivered really bad quality in terms of what they changed for the 'Mega Drive'. They 'Mega Drive' had a bigger success because the game were at least bearable, playing an hour on the 'Mega Drive' is like play a day on the 'Master System', 'Master System' made a great recovery in 'Sega Master System 2' that system was awesome, with its build in game 'Alex The Kidd' another one of my favorite games.
Overall my favorite genre is 'Horror', I love the thrill that horror games provide. I love the essence of fear that a video game can influence of humans through sound, images and text, these three aspects make up the 'Atmosphere' which is very important in a horror game, with out it, it shouldn't be made. I believe there are not enough horror games out there, I believe the zombie games are lacking that essence of panic which can be added in there, through up tense beat to darkness. Horror is where I wish to put most of my skills which I am acquiring though 'Unit 22'.
In Unit 22, I am required to design a game to near professional standard. I want my game to be a plat-former, side scrolling, puzzle game in which horror may creep up every now and then. I wanted this like how it is because I'd like to reach more than one type of people. What I mean by this is, I don't want to attract just plat-former's, I want my game to have a wide variety so more people are entertained and wanting to play it. I am keeping in mind my audience and making it age appropriate for them all, and having a mix will help in that matter.
